Disney is folding Hulu's content into Disney+ under a plan called 'Project Gemini,' expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The standalone Hulu app would then be decommissioned, though Disney says there are 'no current plans to sunset' it.

Paramount Skydance's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, which would combine HBO Max and Paramount+ into a single streaming platform, has been delayed by antitrust litigation. Twelve state attorneys general sued to block the deal on July 13, 2026, and a judge granted a temporary restraining order on July 20. Paramount then agreed on July 24 not to close until five days after the outcome of a trial or June 1, 2027, whichever comes first. Paramount had previously targeted a September 2026 close. Pricing for any combined service has not been announced.
